The Joint Security Task force (JTF) on Tuesday said it had killed two suspected Boko Haram members at Gayawa in Ungoggo Local Government Area of Kano State.
This is contained in a statement signed by spokesman of the JTF, Captain Ikedichi Iweha.
According to the statement the suspects lost their lives during an early morning operation at Gayawa general area.
"A further cordon and search operation was conducted this morning at about 06:30 at Gayawa general area.
"Two terrorists lost their lives as a result of shootout with troops," the statement said.
It said that items recovered from the terrorists included two AK 47 rifles and five magazines.
The statement said that two suspected terrorists were intercepted and arrested on Monday on their way to Zamfara on the Kankara-Sheme road in Katsina State.
It said the suspects were arrested at about 19:30 following an intelligence report by operatives of the JTF and personnel of the Department of the State Security Service, Kano State Command.
"The operatives mounted a snap check point along Kankara-Sheme road in Katsina State to intercept fleeing terrorists from operations in the North-Eeastern axis of the country.''
The statement attributed the success by the JTF to the support it was receiving from the public.
It warned the residents not to rent their property to people they did not know.
